<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Performs landscape tasks in landscape irrigation, ornamental, turf grass requiring both routine and advanced levels of skill and technical knowledge. Provides training and mentorship to apprentice level employees. Performs other duties included but not limited to special event setup and snow and ice removal as assigned.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES:</p> <p>45% - Essential - Ground Duties: Performs routine and advanced landscape tasks such as pruning and sample preparation, plantings installation, and pest management. Prunes damaged or diseased plants, including trees, with emphasis towards restoring to natural shape. Prepares plant samples and soil samples for lab analysis. Maintains pesticide records, materials, and equipment. Maintains supply of parts and materials. Installs landscape plantings from landscape plans. Identifies insects and disease problems on all types of plant material and takes corrective action. Mixes and applies unrestricted use herbicides, fungicides and insecticides to turf, shrubs and trees.</p> <p>35% - Essential - Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operates all types of landscape and heavy equipment for grounds maintenance and improvements.</p> <p>10% - Essential - Training and Mentorship: Leads, guides, and/or trains less experienced landscapers in applicable procedures and techniques. Completes the required training and testing to maintain applicable licensing. Trains less experienced employees in safe, efficient use of landscape and heavy equipment.</p> <p>10% - Essential - Safety: Follows established safety procedures including proper equipment calibration, PPE requirements, and equipment maintenance. Cleans equipment and vehicles.
