<p>Advertising Department ACADEMIC AFFAIRS-BSOM Academic Term/Year SPRING 2025 Position Title Self-Help - Peer Tutors - Block 3 Posting Number 06874 Position Number 06874 Student Job Category Student - Self-Help Campus Job Number of Vacancies 10 Job Description</p> <p>ECU Department of Academic Affairs - Brody School of Medicine is currently seeking to hire multiple Peer Tutors for the 2025 Block 3 academic year.</p> <p>The Peer Tutoring Program offers academic support for medical students through group sessions or one-on-one tutoring led by peer tutors. As a tutor you will be expected to help your assigned student(s) develop a deeper understanding of course materials, help clarify any course concepts and to support and encourage the student(s). Tutors are expected to maintain a professional work ethic, demeanor, and appearance while tutoring. We also want this program to provide leadership and personal development to the tutors. Tutors are expected to perform a variety of functions.</p> <p>Other responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Leading weekly one-on-one or small group sessions that fit the needs of the student </li><li>Reviewing classroom materials and assignments </li><li>Discuss questions, help students understand key concepts discussed in the classroom </li><li>Sharing skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills and approaches to answering test questions. </li><li>Assisting students with test preparation, papers and other academic tasks </li><li>Providing students positive and constructive feedback </li><li>Providing the Peer Tutor Coordinator with at least 4 hours of availability each week to allot enough time for the 45-minute sessions with assigned student(s) </li></ul> <p>Skills - Tutors use a variety of skills and academic knowledge to provide the most comprehensive help possible.
