<p>Position Title Lecturer in Music and Director of Bands - College of Arts and Sciences Division College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) Department Music Job Description</p> <p>The position of Lecturer of Music and Director of Bands is a full-time, 9-month position that reports to the Chair of the Department of Music within the College of Arts and Sciences. Lecturer is a promotable, faculty rank that is evaluated primarily on excellence in teaching. Service to the Department, College, and University is also expected and will primarily take the form of participation in recruitment events, including identifying and awarding recruitment scholarships. The teaching load will be the equivalent of twenty-four (24) credits during the academic year with Band Camp responsibilities in the summer. The schedule is comprised mostly of afternoon rehearsals, evening concerts, and athletic events on the weekends.</p> <ul> <li>Serve as instructor for Marching Band in the fall (Music 010A), Symphonic Band in the fall and spring (Music 010B&C), Pep Band in the spring (Music 050), and possibly Brass Ensemble both semesters (Music 011).
