At NYSTEC, we know that we succeed when our employees flourish personally and professionally.</p> <p>About the Internship Experience:</p> <p>As a NYSTEC intern, you will work with internal and external clients under the direction of an assigned mentor. You will learn consulting competencies, such as industry understanding, client/business perspective, leadership, resource management, opportunity development, consulting business knowledge, partnering and networking, personal interaction, managing quality, business ethics, and continued learning and development.</p> <p>As an intern the Policy and Program Strategic Solutions practice, your day-to-day role will be helping to advanced NYSTEC service offerings.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities May Include:</p> <ul> <li>Perform consulting service tasks in collaboration with a mentor. </li><li>Learn the business development and sales process by assisting with project proposals, presentations, and new client activities. </li><li>Develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external clients. </li><li>Proactively share information that will make colleagues and clients more successful. </li><li>Learn and use NYSTEC's appropriate tools and processes. </li><li>Participate in internal and client-facing meetings. </li><li>Analyze materials to create written deliverables. </li><li>Prepare reports and presentations. </li><li>Track the document flow, review, and approval process between the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and vendors. </li></ul> <p>About You:</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Works under general supervision, receives minimal instruction for new assignments, and exercises a high degree of initiative and discretion in the completion of assigned tasks. </li><li>Able to problem solve complex assignments requiring research and analysis. </li><li>Must demonstrate expertise in an area of specialization and apply and interpret fundamental principles, theories, and concepts within that specialization. </li><li>Must possess excellent written and verbal communications, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage and develop key relationships with colleagues and clients through collaborative thinking and a strong customer focus. </li><li>Must be well organized, able to work well under pressure, and a good team player. </li><li>Must have a commitment to the NYSTEC Experience. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>This program seeks undergraduate and graduate students with exceptional technical and research skills, combined with strong leadership potential. We look for diverse educational and professional experience.</p> <ul> <li>Must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a concentration in business, project management, technology, or a related field. </li></ul> <p>The NYSTEC Internship Program for summer 2024 will run from May 12 - August 1. The typical schedule will be during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Specific hours can be negotiated based on the intern's availability.
