<p>Summary of Position</p> <p>Responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Acquires resources and coordinates the effort of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.</p> <p>Develops project plans and associated communications documents.</p> <p>Manages project budgets and resource allocations.</p> <p>Communicates project expectations effectively to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.</p> <p>Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.</p> <p>Tracks project milestones and deliverables.</p> <p>Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.</p> <p>Proactively manages changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.</p> <p>Coaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises project team members and contractors, and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.</p> <p>Conducts project post-mortems and creates reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.</p> <p>Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with training new hires.</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.</p> <p>Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.</p> <p>Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Potential for remote work.</p> <p>Supervision Exercised: May exercise supervision over student employees.</p> <p>Reports to: Associate Director, Project Management Office</p> <p>Qualifications and Competencies</p> <p>Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>Knowledge of: University, division, and department goals and objectives<em>; university, division, and department policies and procedures</em>; office practices and procedures<em>; workplace safety practices and procedures</em>; business skills & management; budgeting and analysis; English grammar and spelling; records management; project management; process improvement.</p> <p>Skill in: communication and management; use of office equipment; Use of TeamDynamix Project Management Software; use of computer software and other programs applicable to the assigned department/division*.?</p> <p>Ability to: be self-motivated, innovative, and team-oriented; work successfully with clients and support personnel; deal with problems involving several variables within familiar context; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; determine material and equipment needs; compile and prepare reports; understand a variety of written and/or verbal communications; Travel to and gain access to work site; effectively interact with personnel and public to answer routine questions; train or instruct others; move quickly and effectively from one tasks to another; work independently and in a team environment; develop and maintain effective working relationships.??</p> <p>(*) Developed after employment.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor's degree; and three or more years of experience as a resource on IT projects of various levels of complexity and work effort.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: A master's degree in business, information technology, computer science or related discipline. Experience working in a higher education environment. Experience managing IT related projects. Project Manager Professional (PMP).</p>
