<p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology </li><li>Proper State licensure </li><li>Possession of Certificate of Clinical Competence </li><li>Proper endorsements as required </li></ul> <p>Reports To:</p> <ul> <li>Building Principal and Student Services </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate student's current level of functioning as it relates to the areas of language and communication, using culturally sensitive and appropriate assessment tools </li><li>Schedule, plan and convene ETR teams for the purposes of initial and re-evaluations </li><li>Regularly evaluate and report student progress, identifying strengths and needs to assist the team in making program modifications </li><li>Regularly collect and analyze data </li><li>Determine appropriate interventions based on assessment results </li><li>Collaborate with general education staff and special education staff to determine needs and monitor progress </li><li>Experience providing services within the general education setting </li><li>Experience participating on Teacher Based Teams </li><li>Implements appropriate instructional activities, based on established curriculum, which meet the individual learning needs of students and maximize communication and participation opportunities. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of special education principles and strategies as applied to children with severe speech and physical impairments. </li><li>Knowledge of augmentative/alternative communication principles and strategies, and technology applications currently available in the field. </li><li>Ability to prepare comprehensive reports, speak and write effectively and work under a minimum of direction. </li><li>Ability to elicit the cooperation of others and function as an effective team member. </li><li>Ability to participate in the overall educational program and team planning, development of activities that include long range strategic goals and initiatives. </li><li>Follows confidentiality procedures regarding students, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members </li><li>Adheres to established laws, policies, rules, and regulations </li><li>Performs assigned duties and is punctual with reports, grades, records and reporting to work </li></ul> <p>This list is representative of a teacher's duties/responsibilities and may not contain all requirements</p> <p>SCHOOL YEAR: 184 days</p> <p>SALARY: In accordance with established salary schedule</p>
