<p>Job Title: Quality Control Technician</p> <p>Pay: $47K</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Oversee the daily operations of the assigned QC lab for the assigned shift. Review all products approved in the assigned QC lab and take appropriate steps to ensure the final quality of the products. Perform all quality control tests and make adjustments to in-process goods for color, viscosity, particle size, and more. Authorized to Tag and Release products in multiple QC labs. Work with QA personnel to identify and correct problems across the product lines. Perform quality control tests on selected incoming raw materials. Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing personnel to minimize the generation of sub-standard products. Recommend disposition of sub-standard and obsolete inventory. Train personnel in the operations of quality control and operate various QC equipment.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee daily operations of the assigned QC lab for the assigned shift. </li><li>Review all products approved in the assigned QC lab and ensure final quality. </li><li>Perform quality control tests and adjust in-process goods for color, viscosity, particle size, etc. </li><li>Tag and Release products in multiple QC labs. </li><li>Work with QA personnel to identify and correct product line problems. </li><li>Perform quality control tests on selected incoming raw materials. </li><li>Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing to minimize sub-standard products. </li><li>Recommend disposition of sub-standard and obsolete inventory. </li><li>Train personnel in quality control operations. </li><li>Operate various QC equipment. </li><li>Perform viscosity, melt point, weight per gallon, let downs, color spectrometer, and paint lab tests. </li><li>Make color adjustments based on evaluations. </li><li>Use visual assessments to adjust color. </li><li>Service wet dispersions and conventional color dispersions. </li><li>Evaluate fluorescent pigments from the adjacent plant. </li><li>Adhere to laboratory safety and housekeeping standards. </li><li>Assist in establishing new or improved quality control procedures. </li><li>Maintain inventory of QC supplies and prepare standard vehicles for in-process tests. </li><li>Submit orders to supervisor to maintain adequate inventory of QC supplies. </li><li>Maintain quality control standards, retainers, and records. </li><li>Ensure effective communication for shift transitions. </li><li>Assist with assigned Technical Service Requests from R&D/QA. </li><li>Perform testing and analysis stemming from product quality complaints. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Quality control </li><li>Laboratory </li><li>Chemistry </li><li>GMP </li><li>QC </li><li>Wet chemistry </li><li>Titration </li><li>Chemical </li><li>Viscosity </li><li>Quality assurance </li><li>Paint prep </li><li>Paint mixing and matching software </li><li>Paint manufacturing </li><li>Lab testing </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum high school graduate with emphasis in chemistry and math. </li><li>Various college degrees with emphasis in chemistry are desirable. </li><li>Ability to discern color differences and color matching. </li><li>Maintain visual precision with periodic professional visual exams. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work will be conducted primarily in the lab, with occasional trips to the floor to grab samples.
