<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Manages intermediate to complex road and bridge construction projects. Produces monthly estimates in AWP (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Project Software). Assists the Resident Construction Engineer and Assistant Resident Construction Engineer with utility certifications and project closeouts, including As-Built Plans. Supervises and trains engineers and inspectors within the office. Performs inspection duties in all fields of inspection and produces the required reports relating to those inspections in a timely manner. Maintains inspection and testing equipment. Completes daily time sheets and monthly mileage reports. Performs interoffice audits of all office-assigned construction projects to assure compliance with Director of Construction Quality Mangement Team standards. Ensures the collection of and/or collects samples and certifications relating to construction inspection activities. Schedules and performs construction verification surveys, preconstruction layout activities, and other data collection. Performs other related duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A high school diploma and four and one-half (4.5) years of progressively responsible engineering technician related experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. Attainment of a Technician Certification in accordance with the SCDOT Technician Certification Policy may substitute for six (6) months of directly related experience.</p> <p>The physical demands for the essential functions involves frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 50 lbs. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May require occasional exposure to noise. May require working outside of normal work schedules and weekends.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Applications accepted on-line at careers.sc.gov.
