<p>Job Description: This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Lewis Cass Elementary that has a history of excelling in the classroom. This position is supported by a strong administration, grade-level teams and professional learning community.</p> <p>Job Requirements: Qualified Candidates will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide instruction and highly engaging learning opportunities while implementing elementary curriculum maps </li><li>Organize and present daily lesson plans that reflect instructional best practices as outlined in school improvement plans and professional development initiatives </li><li>Attends assigned professional development and implements new practices successfully </li><li>Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that provide developmentally age-appropriate experiences and promote student engagement </li><li>Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student </li><li>Regularly uses data to guide educational decisions and instruction </li><li>Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports </li><li>Implements strategies to keep students and parents informed of academic and behavioral performance </li><li>Identifies students' needs, makes appropriate referrals and implements appropriate accommodations/interventions as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEP), Individual Learning Plans (ILP), 504 Plans, or Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Plans </li><li>Creates an organized environment conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays, interest/learning centers, or exhibits of student work </li><li>Utilizes technology as an instructional, communication, and management tool </li><li>Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve and promote an effective learning atmosphere </li><li>Communicates and meets with parents as needed </li><li>Responds to parents' inquiries in a timely manner </li><li>Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district </li><li>Coordinates the work of instructional assistants, parents, volunteers in the classroom, school events, and field trips </li><li>Knowledge of corporation and school policies </li><li>Handles clerical functions/reports related to job responsibilities in a timely manner </li><li>Maintains satisfactory attendance </li><li>Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook </li><li>Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives </li></ul> <p>Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education </li><li>Current Indiana Teaching License or able to obtain </li><li>Individual must have excellent communication and organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Please include 3 letters of recommendation that are related to your education career.</p> <p>Health, vision and dental insurance available. Life and LTD insurance provided. 403(b) provided along with a corporation match. 3 personal days and 11 sick days.</p>
