<p>Job Title: Senior Transportation Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer with expertise in Highway Design, Utility Coordination, Cost Estimating, and Transportation Engineering. Proficiency in MicroStation (preferred) and/or AutoCAD design software is essential. You will be responsible for producing plans, specifications, and engineer's estimates for roadway projects involving NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, and County or Municipal agencies.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Employ fundamental principles of Highway Design, Utility Coordination, Cost Estimating, and Transportation Engineering. </li><li>Utilize MicroStation (preferred) and/or AutoCAD design software. </li><li>Produce plans, specifications, and engineer's estimates for roadway projects. </li><li>Perform Geometric Design, Design Exception, Roadside Design including current Guide Rail Design, Pavement Design, MPT, Signing and Striping, ROW, Access Management, Grading, and Permitting. </li><li>Coordinate with Utility Companies and manage Utility Relocations and Risk Analysis. </li><li>Produce Utility Schemes of Accommodation. </li><li>Design Roadway Drainage and perform 3D Roadway Modeling. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong design capabilities with MicroStation Inroads experience. </li><li>Experience working with alignments, surfaces, templates, earthwork, and plans and quantity calculations. </li><li>Background in DOT/Transportation projects. </li><li>Knowledge in drainage, soil erosion, environmental plans, and utilities. </li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD and CIVIL 3D software. </li><li>Familiarity with NJDOT Capital Project Procedures, NJDOT/NJTA/AASHTO Roadway Design Manual, Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, MUTCD, and the NEPA Process. </li><li>Experience in Monitoring Budgets and Primavera Scheduling. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>EIT or PE certification is a plus. </li><li>Strong personality suited for a team-oriented and collaborative work environment. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Our office consists of a 10-person civil/transportation group (8 civil engineers and 2 traffic engineers). The work schedule includes 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and 2 days working from home (Monday and Friday). The environment is highly collaborative, focusing on various transportation projects including those for DOT, GATEWAY, and the Turnpike Authority. Employees receive a company laptop and can choose between pursuing a path as a project manager or a highly skilled design engineer.
