<p>Occupational Therapist for 2025 - 2026 School Year</p> <p>Cooperative School Services is based in Rensselaer, Indiana, and serves nine school corporations (Benton Community, Frontier, Kankakee Valley, North Newton, North White, Rensselaer Central, South Newton, Tri-County and West Central). The position covers multiple school buildings and requires a personal vehicle for travel with mileage reimbursement.</p> <p>Position: Occupational Therapist (Preschool - 12) *If an OT cannot be employed, a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will be considered.</p> <p>Terms of Employment: 185 School Days (Generally mid-August - early June)/ 7.5 hours per day. Salary and Benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum Master's degree in occupational therapy, as required by state and contract </li><li>Valid State Certification as specified in the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA) </li><li>School OT services and evaluation experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provides Occupational Therapy intervention for students utilizing exercises and equipment to facilitate fine and/or gross motor coordination based on the goals and objectives included in the student's IEP/ISP. </li><li>Participates in IEP case conferences. Provide written documentation related to occupational therapy during Annual Case Reviews and/or other meetings and provide written documentation for progress as determined by the student's Individual Education Plan. </li><li>Monitors student progress. </li><li>Assess the motor, visual-motor, and sensory-motor functioning of students referred for special education evaluation. Help determine the need for occupational therapy services. </li><li>Assist school staff in reducing barriers that limit student participation within the school environment. </li><li>Assist with providing assistive technology to support student success if/when applicable. </li><li>Communicate with school staff, family, and other professionals who are part of the child's educational team to contribute to a collaborative IEP including but not limited to student self-advocacy, student engagement in school activities, curricular modifications to support diverse learning abilities, increase student success and promote safety within the school environment, etc. student progress, needed adaptations, etc. </li><li>Creates solutions to challenges for individual students, which are based in research and sound professional judgment. </li><li>Makes referrals to community resources as needed. </li><li>Documents and maintains an accurate record of therapy sessions, consultation, and other pertinent activities in daily notes and/or Medicaid Billing.
