<p>What we need:</p> <p>We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Natural Resources Technician 3 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Muskingum River State Park located in Morgan County. Typical hours for this position are 7:30AM-4:00PM Monday-Friday, during the winter months. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, this position may work some weekends.</p> <p>This position requires a Class A Commerical Driver's License (CDL) without restrictions and will need to obtain a pesticide applicator license (Commerical Core and Category 5, Industrial Vegetation Control) as issued by the Department of Agriculture, within one year of hire.</p> <p>What you will do…</p> <ul> <li>Work outside in some of the most beautiful parks in Ohio; </li><li>Act as a lead worker for lock operations, grounds and facility maintenance; </li><li>Operate and maintain the historic Muskingum River Navigation System allowing boats to safely pass through the only hand operated lock system remaining in the country; </li><li>Maintain a variety of park equipment and vehicles; </li><li>Interact daily with a variety of customers who utilize the park & watercraft facilities; </li><li>Operate a boat to mark and maintain navigation channels; </li><li>Starting hourly pay $21.63/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 5.5 years of service, with an end salary of $24.66/hr. </li></ul> <p>TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASSIFICATION AFTER EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Pesticide applicator license as issued by Department of Agriculture required within one year of hire; positions operating watercraft must complete boat operator education course per Ohio Revised Code 1547.05.</p> <p>UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>May be exposed to dirt, dust, fumes & noise; may be exposed to chemical spray; may work in or near water; may work evenings, weekends &/or holidays; works outside & may be exposed to inclement weather; may be exposed to dangerous machinery; unpleasant odors, human & animal waste, outdoor elements (e.g., animals, insects, poison ivy).</p> <p>12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in safety practices; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in use of shop, hand & power tools & light equipment; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in carpentry, electrical repair & plumbing; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in equipment operation, maintenance & repair (e.g., tractors with attachments); Class A Commercial Driver's license, without restrictions.</p> <ul> <li>Or 6 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Technician 2, 22622; Class A Commercial Driver's License, without restrictions. </li><li>Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. </li></ul> <p>Job Skills: General Maintenance, Technical Skills: Natural Resources, Carpentry Trade, Electrical Trade, Plumbing Trade Professional Skills: Attention to Detail, Customer Focus</p>
