This role requires strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. We provide opportunities for career growth, professional development, and a meaningful way to contribute to the safety of our school community.</p> <p>ROLE(S) - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>School Police Dispatcher</p> <p>Summary: School Police Dispatchers serve as the central communication hub for the IPS School Police Department. They handle emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinate officer response, monitor security systems, and ensure accurate record-keeping.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls. </li><li>Dispatch IPS police officers and coordinate response efforts. </li><li>Monitor school security systems, including alarms and surveillance cameras. </li><li>Maintain accurate and detailed communication logs and records. </li><li>Utilize multi-line phone systems and two-way radios for communication. </li><li>Provide clear and concise information to officers, school staff, and emergency responders. </li><li>Assist with administrative tasks and data entry as needed. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required. </li><li>Experience in dispatch, emergency communication, customer service, or a related field preferred. </li><li>Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations. </li><li>Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. </li><li>Familiarity with multi-line phone systems, computer databases, and dispatch software is a plus. </li><li>Must be able to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. </li></ul> <p>Spanish and/or bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
