<p>Position Type: Concurrent Credit/Advanced Placement Biology & Environmental Science</p> <p>Location: Greenbrier High School</p> <p>Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Arkansas Teaching License OR willingness to complete an Alternative Route to Licensure through Division of Elementary and Secondary Education </li><li>Master's degree that includes 18 graduate hours in a science related field, such as biology, physics, chemistry, or other science program </li><li>Willingness to complete required Advanced Placement training </li></ul> <p>The Greenbrier School District is seeking applicants to be active members of our professional learning community and who are interested in living the mission and vision of our school district while committing to our core beliefs:</p> <ul> <li>Children come first </li><li>The classroom is the most important place in the district </li><li>Leadership and accountability are keys to our success. </li></ul> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This position is responsible for providing instruction and support designed to prepare students for current and future success.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Curriculum and Instruction</p> <ul> <li>Teaches District approved curriculum daily </li><li>Uses extensive content knowledge to support individual student growth </li><li>Collaboratively participates in and contributes to curriculum development and creation of unit organizers </li><li>Implements school and/or district curricular and instructional goals, including implementing curriculum unit and developing lesson plans and instructional material </li><li>Implements the school and district's Model of Instruction </li><li>Implements the Science of Reading in all instruction </li><li>Implements the school and district's Multi-Tiered System of Support, including: </li><li>Using evidence-based Tier I instruction </li><li>Creating and implementing tiered interventions and extensions based on student data </li><li>Implements evidence-based assessment and grading practices aligned with district systems </li><li>Progress monitors students' growth (academic/social/behavior) and reports monitoring data to the Student Intervention Team </li><li>Creates and maintains a classroom environment and culture that is inviting to students and conducive and appropriate to learning in both appearance and activities </li><li>Establishes clear objectives and success criteria for all lessons, units, projects, etc., and communicates these objectives to students </li><li>Instructs students for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study </li><li>Participates in the school and district-wide Social and Emotional Learning program and initiatives </li></ul> <p>Professionalism</p> <ul> <li>Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis </li><li>Participates in professional development as directed, including but not limited to adult learning around the Science of Reading, differentiation, Model of Instruction, and other job-embedded curriculum development </li><li>Continually builds personal capacity in understanding and using mathematical practices in instruction </li><li>Participates in a growth mindset culture within the school community </li><li>Participates in collegial and professional activities within the school and District, including but not limited to weekly team meetings for content and/or grade level team(s) </li><li>Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations </li><li>Assists students in establishing and maintaining standards of behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere daily </li><li>Follows state, district, and school policies and expectations </li><li>Maintains personal safety of students </li><li>Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities daily </li><li>Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns and/or direct to appropriate personnel </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Employability Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Consistently uses effective and productive soft skills with all school district stakeholders </li><li>Displays flexibility and adaptability in a variety of situations within the school community </li><li>Exhibits high levels of work ethic and commitment </li><li>Maintains and contributes to positive and productive actions, decision-making, and environment </li><li>Commits to effective collaboration within small and large teams </li><li>Communicates with students and parents on student progress on a continuous basis </li></ul> <p>Job Contact Information:</p> <p>Name - Dr. Kelli Martin</p> <p>Title - Deputy Superintendent</p> <p>Phone - 501.679.4808</p> <p>Email - martink@greenbrierschools.org</p> <p>Salary Range/Schedule: http://greenbrierschools.org/salaries</p>
