<p>We are seeking a Women's Volleyball Head Coach who will report to the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation and leads in the areas of volleyball instruction, team practices, pre-season training, regular and post-season contests, travel, recruiting, student-athlete eligibility, and academic progress. The candidate must be of professional and high ethical standards when representing Passaic County Community College in addition to National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rule compliance and other affiliations governing intercollegiate athletics.</p> <p>Duties, and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Attend required functions and meetings deemed by the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation </li><li>Lead in recruiting talented student-athletes in Passaic County, NJ and surrounding communities. </li><li>Lead in coordinating campus visits and tours with PCCC College Administrators on behalf of new recruits. </li><li>Represent sports program at college functions and civic engagements. </li><li>Obtain updated and valid physical records of student-athletes prior to volleyball program participation. </li><li>Create or revise a volleyball program handbook outlining plans, goals, objectives, team dos-and-don'ts etc. </li><li>Lead in organizing and administering daily conditioning and sport specific training. </li><li>Transport student-athletes to off-campus games and other functions in the college van. </li><li>Oversee student-athlete behavior/conduct and academic eligibility. </li><li>Lead in purchasing, inventory, disbursement and return of all equipment, uniforms, assigned to student-athletes. </li><li>Establish and maintain relations with external volleyball organizations, high school coaches and players. </li><li>Frequently review and apply rules outlined in Region XIX and GSAC Sports Operating Code along with bylaws governed by the NJCAA. </li><li>Execute and ensure compliance of all regulations, rules, procedures, and policies for the program as established by the NJCAA, GSAC and Passaic County Community College </li><li>Upload team roster, stats, scores, and other information required on Region XIX and NJCAA National website. </li><li>Lead in the coordination of travel, meals and team meetings as needed. </li><li>Schedule team practices, pre-season training, and off-season work outs. </li><li>Organize and administer team community service and fundraising efforts as needed. </li><li>Serve as a positive role model for PCCC student-athletes. </li><li>Nominate student athletes for intercollegiate awards and recognition. </li><li>Lead student-athletes in transition to the next level of competition and education at four-year institutions. </li><li>Maintain regular contact with student-athletes and the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation during the full term of the contract, including the off season. </li><li>Take role in student-athlete academic success, engagement, and retention by covering study halls, monitor class attendance, and follow up on progress reports. </li><li>Take initiative to assure both operational need and program infrastructure remains intact during times of crisis. </li><li>Adhere to actions deemed by Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation in support of the mission intended for the sports program and department. </li><li>Perform related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Associates Degree or have at least 60 college credits from a regionally accredited College or University. A transcript will be required and Higher degree preferred. </li><li>Must have a flexible schedule to be present at all practices, home, and away games. </li><li>Volleyball coaching/playing experience with proven success record. </li><li>Prior high school and or 2-4-year college level coaching experience highly desired </li><li>Possess a valid drivers' license. </li><li>Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification. </li><li>Proven ability to effectively recruit student-athletes within and beyond Passaic County </li><li>Ability to understand and apply sport compliance rules. </li><li>Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations is highly desired. </li></ul> <p>The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.</p>
