Yes</p> <p>County New York</p> <p>Street Address 99 Washington Ave</p> <p>City Albany</p> <p>StateNY</p> <p>Zip Code12255</p> <p>Duties Description Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provide legal advice to HESC's Executive Staff, managers, and administrators on issues that impact HESC's mission and student financial aid programs</p> </li><li> <p>Work with agency staff to prepare legal documents such as contracts, MOUs, and agreements with third parties</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor, track, evaluate, and provide advice on legislative and regulatory matters</p> </li><li> <p>Draft bills and regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Research and respond to inquiries from legislative staff regarding constituents</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the Secretary to the HESC Board of Directors in preparing for Board meetings, preparing minutes of meetings, making presentations to the Board, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide support to the agency Records Access Officer in tracking, processing, and responding to FOIL requests on behalf of the agency; and</p> </li><li> <p>Provide support to the agency Ethics Officer, as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum Qualifications • Currently enrolled in a law school, pursuing a JD or LLM</p> <ul> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office </li></ul> <p>PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>An interest in public sector and education law</p> <p>Additional Comments *NOTE: Qualifying candidates must be available to work part-time through the end of the current semester and full-time, 37.5 hours per week once the current semester ends.
