<p>Job Description:</p> <p>General Statement</p> <p>Adjunct instructors teach courses within a specific discipline to a diverse student population on our main campus in Worcester and/or at additional satellite locations within our service area. We are especially interested in instructors who are qualified to teach both algebra-based and calculus-based physics lab courses. Courses assigned are primarily day courses, and responsibilities include instructional preparation, assessment of student performance and assistance to students. Adjunct faculty will attend a limited number of faculty meetings.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline plus 5+ years progressive industry experience in advanced manufacturing or related industry and/or Interested applicants who may not meet the qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position. </li><li>Demonstrated working knowledge of principles of electronics engineering technology. </li><li>Experience in teaching or training. </li><li>Ability to teach day, evening or weekend classes in more than one campus location with particular emphasis on day classes in Southbridge or Worcester. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge base within one or more of the following areas: Electronics, Microcontrollers, Control Systems, Robotics, Automated Systems, PLCs, Circuit Board Design and Fabrication, Advanced Soldering Techniques, Biomedical Electronics, Project Design, Photonics, Fiber Optics, Lasers, and/or Electronics Energy Transmission and Distribution. </li><li>Seven or more years of progressive industry experience in Massachusetts or New England. </li><li>Two years of successful college/technical teaching, preferably in a community college or vocational/technical high school setting. </li><li>Demonstrated experience with and ability to apply industry-recognized skill standards, including production processes, quality, safety, and employability skills, in the classroom. </li><li>Experience promoting innovation, creativity and "making" through efforts such as Maker Faire, Fab Labs, Hackerspace or related open community-lab initiatives. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity in the curriculum as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Quinsigamond Community College is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, religion, age, veteran status, genetic information, gender identity or sexual orientation in its programs and activities as required by Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other applicable statutes and college policies.
