When you join Cleveland Clinic, you'll be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Floor Technician </li><li>Create a sanitary and safe environment that enhances the appearance of the facility by cleaning assigned areas daily. </li><li>Maintain hard floor surfaces through dust mopping, mopping, buffing and auto-scrubbing. </li><li>Maintain carpets through shampooing, extraction, gum removal and daily maintenance. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and supply par levels in EVS closets. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness of clean and soiled utility rooms, equipment rooms and med rooms. </li><li>Complete waste stream removal including general waste, recycling and infectious waste. </li><li>Patient and Equipment Transportation </li><li>Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair, stretcher or beds as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment. </li><li>Transfers patients to or from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers, with assistance. </li><li>Transports patients during discharge to hospital lobby and opens doors. </li><li>Ensures proper oxygen levels in tanks before transporting patient. </li><li>Communicates to nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians or reception regarding patient's arrival and departure. </li><li>Moves and delivers equipment and linen carts to the appropriate staging area and depots. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li></ul> <p>Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>None required </li></ul> <p>Complexity of Work:</p> <ul> <li>Requires organizational, decisive judgment, problem solving, communications, good customer service skills and the ability to </li><li>Work with minimal supervision. </li><li>Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions as needed. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li>After selection and placement, requires three months on-the-job training and orientation to learn multiple hospital and clinic locations, special procedures and patient emergency and safety procedures, proper body mechanics necessary to safely move patients. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Requires full range of body motion including handling of patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination. </li><li>Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range. </li><li>Requires working with some exposure to communicable disease. </li><li>Heavy work-exerting 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. </li><li>Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. </li></ul> <p>Keywords: janitor, custodian, custodial, floor scrubbers, buffers, porter, waxing, stripping, customer service, floor care, scrubbing, housekeeper, housekeeping, sanitizing, customer service, dusting, mopping, cleaning, cleaner, maid, maintenance, groundskeeper, laborer, room attendant, patient transporter, transporter, textile, linen, laundry attendant</p> <p>Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
