<p>Overview</p> <p>Come see why Wesley Enhanced Living is Ranked #4 in the Nation as a Best Workplace in our industry!</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Activities Specialists are responsible for enhancing the quality of life and well-being of residents by offering meaningful and enjoyable activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional health. This role requires creativity, empathy, and a passion for enriching the lives of others through recreational and social engagement. They will also perform other duties as required.</p> <p>Essential Duties</p> <ul> <li>Works with interdisciplinary teams in program development, implementation and regular review of programming for all levels of care. </li><li>Design and develop programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being among participants. </li><li>Support relationships with external organizations, community groups, and volunteers to enhance program offerings and community engagement opportunities. </li><li>Responsible for overseeing internship programs where applicable. </li><li>Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of programs through resident feedback, attendance, engagement, and outcome assessments. </li><li>Stay current with trends and best practices in recreational therapy or related fields through professional development opportunities. </li><li>Obtain relevant certifications or credentials to enhance skills and knowledge in activity planning and implementation. </li><li>Responsible for creating a supportive environment for successful engagement in programs and activities which can include room set up. </li><li>Communicates opportunities throughout the community to residents, staff, and family members, encourages resident participation and involvement. </li><li>Creates opportunities for socializing, fostering meaningful connections, and providing activities and adaptations as needed that engage all participants. </li><li>Address concerns timely communication and when needed will refer any issues to appropriate department. </li><li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to integrate activities into resident care plans. </li><li>Meet individually with residents to encourage and promote engagement in leisure and community programming. </li><li>Ensure the safety of participants during activities by following safety protocols and guidelines. </li><li>Keeping accurate records of participation, feedback, and any incidents that occur during activities is essential. </li><li>Responsible for documenting attendance, noting any changes in participants' behavior or preferences, and reporting concerns to supervisors. </li><li>Provide support for the MDS assessment process, including completion of surveys and assessment documentation as needed. </li><li>Participates in the care planning process (where applicable). </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 2 years' experience in a recreation or activities environment or related field. </li><li>Experience in CCRC setting preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of MDS and regulatory experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, or related field or ADC certification with at least 2 years of experience required </li></ul> <p>Licensure/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>CTRS or equivalent preferred; position specific certification required </li></ul> <p>At WEL, you will be paid a competitive salary and enjoy a generous benefits package!</p> <p>Some of our benefits include:</p> <ul> <li>Health Insurance (including prescription and vision) </li><li>Dental Insurance </li><li>401(k) plans </li><li>Wellness program </li><li>Flexible Spending Accounts </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement </li><li>Life insurance </li><li>Other generous benefits </li></ul> <p>We welcome your application and invite you to visit: www.wel.org to learn more about our 130+ year young organization, our enhanced living philosophy, and our award winning team of employees.</p> <p>For the safety and protection of our residents, employees, and visitors our organization requires that all staff members receive the COVID-19 vaccines.</p> <p>Don't wait, apply to today!!</p> <p>An Equal Opportunity Employer | A Mandatory COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccine Employer</p> <p>A Drug-Free Workplace .</p>
