Incumbent is expected to assist in diagnostics of nematodes and diseases for field trials and submitted samples while supporting the Turfgrass Pathology and Nematology Program. Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES:</p> <p>75% - Essential - Assist with extraction and quantification of nematodes from field trials performed with turf pathology at Pee Dee REC. Sample collection will include labeling, soil sampling across individual treatment plots, extraction via centrifugation and/or mist, and quantification of nematodes using morphological characteristics.</p> <p>10% - Essential - Greenhouse, Field Work, and Data Management: Assists in data collection. Performs data entry and statistical analysis of data collection. Creates computer graphics. Develops and maintains web pages for laboratory and research projects.</p> <p>10% - Essential - Training: Trains interns, volunteers, visitors, undergraduate and graduate students in lab techniques and lab safety.</p> <p>5% - Essential - Lab Equipment and Supply Maintenance: Maintains lab equipment. Orders and manages payment for supplies. Compares pricing and selects best value.
