Applications are being reviewed as they are received.</p> <p>The purpose of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Internship program is to provide students of undergraduate GIS-related studies with professional GIS experience in a public sector organization. This internship position will support citywide GIS from the Information Technology (IT) department. This program is intended to provide part-time employment in the GIS field. Upon the student's graduation and completion of the GIS internship, the student should have received adequate training and experience necessary for an entry-level GIS job. </p> <p>This position reports to the GIS Analysts and Data Quality Manager.  </p> <ul> <li>The GIS intern is expected to:  </li><li>Perform entry level GIS work, including the creation and maintenance of GIS data within ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online </li><li>Assist in data clean-up and data quality testing </li><li>Assist in producing printed and virtual maps for stakeholders </li><li>Assist in troubleshooting stakeholders' issues and training </li><li>Assist with creating and updating project documents and instructions </li><li>Perform other related tasks as assigned </li><li>Careful review and attention to detail is a must </li></ul> <p>The applicant must be currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate degree program such as Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science, or other related fields. Applicants must have prior hands-on experience in ArcGIS applications. Must have effective time management and demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and goals with minimal supervision. </p> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION</p> <p>This is a part-time internship position.</p> <p>The position will require occasional travel within the municipality for field data collection and meetings with departments.</p>
