<p>The Teacher's Aide will provide classroom support to teachers by reading books to the children, sweeping after snack time, and sanitizing nap cots. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Child Care, Early Education, or Human Development Certificate. </li><li>Must have experience working with young children. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Candidate must successfully meet all NYS Office of Children & Family Services background clearances and fingerprint screenings. </li><li>Candidate must complete NYS OCFS 5 hour training prior to start date, and all training requirements per NYS Office of Children & Family Services schedule (15 hrs within first 6 months of employment; 30 hrs. within first 2 years; 60 hrs. within 4 yrs.) across all required training topics. </li><li>Position requires completed medical form and TB test per NYS Regulations. </li><li>Understanding and knowledge of NYS Office of Children & Family Services regulations helpful. </li><li>Information relating to an individual child is confidential and cannot be disclosed without written parental permission to anyone other than the NYS Office of Children & Family Services, its designees or other persons authorized by law. </li><li>Candidate must be responsible with all confidential information. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Communication with center staff. </li><li>Support classroom by reading books; snack clean-up. </li><li>Additional tasks assigned by the teachers. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Candidate must obtain a physical and TB test or have a current one (within 12 months); NYS OCFS medical form must be completed by a physician, and on file by candidate's first day of employment. </li></ul> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
