<p>Req Id: 35093</p> <p>Job Title: Business Assistant, Lead</p> <p>City: West Lafayette</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position will assist faculty, students, and staff in the associated Employment Center. This position is responsible for all payroll functions, fellowship processing, and financial reporting related to payroll. Assist in creating job requisitions and initiating hiring and onboarding for all positions in areas supported by the center as necessary. Interact with Deans, Directors, Department Heads, Administrative Assistants and business office staff to ensure the correct employment processes are followed. Provide leadership with the payroll team to investigate problems, and exercise discretion in resolving and/or elevating issues as needed. Serve as a liaison with central payroll offices and other offices on more complex payroll issues as well as serve as a resource to business managers and other payroll staff. Responsible for formal training and mentoring duties and expected to serve as an informal mentor and trainer across the areas supported by the center.</p> <p>Hybrid work will be considered for this position based on the candidate's location and interest.</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED </li><li>Minimum 4 years of experience in clerical or administrative support role </li><li>Highly motivated individual who will take initiative to solve problems, assume responsibility, and meet deadlines </li><li>Must be able to work in an open office environment and be a functional part of a team </li><li>Must be creative, thorough, and professional </li><li>Problem solving, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills highly desired </li><li>Must be able to handle interruptions, balance multiple and varied tasks, and handle confidential information with discretion </li><li>Excellent time management skills required </li><li>Must be adaptable to constantly varying work environments and daily supervision </li><li>Must demonstrate attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and have the ability to meet deadlines </li><li>Proficiency with computer and common business software (especially Microsoft Office) </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>To learn more about Purdue's benefits summary?CLICK HERE </li><li>Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this?position </li><li>A background check will be required for employment in this position </li><li>FLSA: Non-exempt (Eligible?For?Overtime) </li><li>Retirement Eligibility:?
