The duties include: managing schedules and calendars for program leadership, manage appointments, assist with travel arrangements, prepare and mail correspondence, answer and direct phone calls and emails, scan, file and organize documents, manage office equipment including service calls, creating and maintain presentations, conducting research and compiling data, and proof reading and editing documents. Provide administrative support to staff and perform clerical tasks as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer: Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 G-9, OR one year or more of permanent or contingent- permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to a salary Grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.</p> <p>Provisional Promotion: Current NYS Department of Health employee with one year or more permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status or 55-b/55-c service in an office assistant, clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 6 or higher. Qualifying titles are available at: https://www.cs.ny.gov/examannouncements/announcements/38687titles.cfm.</p> <p>Public Candidates (NY HELPS): One year of clerical experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, ability to work independently and in teams to carry out tasks to completion, use of MS Office Suite, and critical thinking skills.</p> <p>Additional Comments Permanent, Competitive, full-time. Transfer candidates may be asked for SSN to verify title history and eligibility.</p> <p>NYS Department of Health does not participate in E-Verify and does not sponsor visa applications.</p> <p>If three or fewer New York State Department of Health promotional candidates respond to this notice, the agency may, at its discretion, nominate a qualified employee for non-competitive promotion under the provisions of Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law.
