<p>Position Title: Bus Driver</p> <p>Department: Transportation</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Transportation</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Operate any and all school buses, including Special Education buses, on scheduled routes and/or on all types of trips in support of district approved activities, both within and out of school district boundaries </li><li>Successfully complete District school bus driver training programs and courses </li><li>Complete all other training programs required by District policy and procedures </li><li>Perform pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections as required by State and District policy procedure </li><li>Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of assigned district vehicles; sweeping, dusting, and washing </li><li>Add fuel, oil, and coolant as needed </li><li>Maintain control of student passengers as related to safety. Report unsafe acts or conditions which require the attention of supervisory personnel. Confer with parents when necessary </li><li>Complete forms, records and reports as required by State and District policy and procedures. Maintain an up to date seating chart on bus </li><li>Operate a school bus in accordance with the laws of the State of Arkansas and District policy and procedures </li><li>Wear appropriate attire to comply with District policy and procedures </li><li>Operate and maintain all school bus equipment and accessories including, but not limited to, fire extinguishers, highway warning kits, first aid kits, wheel chair lifts, and tie downs </li><li>Operate all hand and foot controls installed in the school bus as required by Arkansas State School Bus Specifications </li><li>Perform basic first aid as appropriate, which may include CPR </li><li>Maintain and complete legible and accurate forms, records, time sheets, accident reports, and other clerical type activities as may be required </li><li>Perform other school bus driver related duties as directed by District policy procedures </li><li>Ability to maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the general public </li><li>Notify transportation director if driver cannot perform assigned duty as early as possible so that a substitute can be notified to take your place </li><li>Upon student entry of bus, the driver must be present on the bus </li><li>Participate in all required screenings and tests </li><li>Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met </li><li>Display professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None</p> <p>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
