<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position independently researches and develops a wide range of examinations and other education and examination-related projects as needed in accordance with professional standards and federal guidelines. This position also identifies the need for exam development and validation and initiates proposals for said studies for assigned boards. Responsibilities include independently carrying out complex, large scale exam construction projects consistent with Department priorities and goals and reviewing pre-license and continuing education programs for approval in accordance with Wisconsin Administrative Code. This position also acts as a liaison to examining boards and to the public on examination and education-related activities. The Office of Education and Examinations (OEE) is responsible for providing, through test development or vendor contract, validations and administration of examinations for many credentialed professions attached to the Department of Safety and Professional Services. Other duties include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Independently conduct test development projects in accordance with professional testing standards and federal guidelines to assure valid and reliable licensure examinations.</p> </li><li> <p>Review existing examination content and method for appropriateness to job content, administrative rules, and professional testing practice.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan the administration and scoring of practical and oral examinations to assure objectivity, security, and onsite conditions are conducive to candidate performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Proctor licensing exams.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate exam related information to exam candidates.</p> </li><li> <p>Audit exam sites and recommend improvements to assure examination objectivity, reliability, validity, and administrative efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Review and evaluate pre-license and continuing education course, instructor, and school/program applications, including review of curriculum and program coordination.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with course instructors and other school/program representatives concerning pre-license and continuing education programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as liaison to the examining boards and to the public, provide boards with technical assistance and consultation on examination development and maintenance to aid in decision-making concerning examinations and education.</p> </li><li> <p>Independently perform research projects as assigned to inform the boards of exam needs and industry trends.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and conduct job analysis surveys of professionals in the field to identify skills and knowledge required to protect public health and safety, and to provide a defensible basis for licensure test specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in procurement of services from examination vendors. Work with vendors to ensure smooth running of exam operations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in schedule-range (07-03) with an hourly rate of $26.87 - $30.50, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.</p> <p>This state agency does not sponsor work visas. Experience may include creating and resolving cases; creating and exporting spreadsheets and workbooks; and mailbox administration. </li><li>Experience assisting internal and external customers with questions by utilizing a variety of communication methods (e.g., phone, email, in person, etc.). </li></ul> <p>In addition to having all the above, well qualified applicants will have experience with one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Training or experience working with Wisconsin State Statutes or Federal and State law relating to examinations and licensure. </li><li>Experience in curriculum or program development or evaluation. </li><li>Experience leading others in a job, project, or assignment. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Apply online!
