<p>Business Development Manager, Nutraceutical Ingredients</p> <p>Business Development Manager, Nutraceutical Ingredients (Mid-West/Mid-Atlantic States)</p> <p>The Business Development Manager, Nutraceutical Ingredients is a dynamic and challenging business development role. You will play an important part in IMCD's objective to grow earnings for new opportunities and to drive overall business growth within the Nutraceutical Markets across the United States. As such, you are passionate about developing new products and ardently following up to achieve overall business goals and strategies.</p> <p>An excellent solutions thinker, you are able to build and maintain key relationships with our customers. Your key strengths are identifying high growth opportunities in the following areas: new formulations, problem solving and reaching out to brand and private label customer groups. Passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated by success, a key focus of this role is to exceed our principal's expectations.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Knowledge of the selling product from manufacturing stage to the delivery and customer satisfaction stage</p> <p>Develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business with brands</p> <p>Assist in establishing relationships and creating environment to develop new sales</p> <p>Identifies new market opportunities as well as target builds; seeks out competitive information</p> <p>Drive new product sales; act as a field resource to the Marketing Department during product development, new product introductions and evaluations</p> <p>Align with leadership to prioritize projects and focus on key opportunities for significant growth opportunities</p> <p>Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel</p> <p>Conduct frequent account planned visits, interacting on a recurrent basis</p> <p>Research and understand your target market and key economic conditions / issues at major accounts</p> <p>Work with technical centers regularly to formulate, monitor and improve success rates of key opportunities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business</p> <p>Attend quarterly planning calls with the sales leadership team and representatives</p> <p>Report facility-level information impacting account targets to sales leadership (e.g. new opportunities, changes in procedure mix, etc.)</p> <p>Consistent use of Salesforce.com for maintaining up to date "living documents"</p> <p>Skills</p> <p>Possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers and team-members in a professional manner.</p> <p>Ability to multitask and switch focus quickly</p> <p>Ability to think independently</p> <p>Deadline-driven, detailed oriented, and conscientious</p> <p>Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to think strategically.</p> <p>Proficient with common computer programs, including Microsoft Office</p> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree, technical degree preferred</p> <p>Five plus years of progressive people and business experience</p> <p>Five to seven plus years in Nutraceuticals sales experience with knowledge of key principals, customers, and specialty products used within the industry.</p> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <p>An understanding of the nutraceutical development and registration process is preferred</p> <p>Knowledge of dosage form development and manufacturing major nutraceutical processes and formulation and manufacture of finished dosage forms</p> <p>Experience giving strong technical presentation skills at an academic or industry forum required</p> <p>Excellent oral and written communication skills required</p> <p>Strong ability for customer interfacing exposure to customer interaction</p> <p>Ideal candidate will possess commercial/business development as well as technical abilities</p> <p>Competencies:</p> <p>Customer/Client Focus</p> <p>Problem Solving/Analysis</p> <p>Time Management</p> <p>Communication Proficiency</p> <p>Teamwork Orientation</p> <p>Technical Capacity</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.</p> <p>Position Type/Expected Hours of Work</p> <p>This is a full-time position and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise directed by the Vice President of Pharma.</p> <p>Travel</p> <p>This position requires up to 50% travel.
