<p>Revere Public Schools is seeking a Director of Comprehensive School Counseling and Student Success. This role is a visionary instructional, programmatic and student support leader responsible for overseeing a comprehensive school counseling program that ensures Revere Public School students experience personalized learning across their secondary years. This role integrates college and career readiness, academic advising, and personal-social development with innovative, student-centered learning models rooted in equity. The Director will supervise a team of school counselors and program coordinators to ensure that Revere students have access to high-quality advising, coaching, and support tailored to their goals, needs, and aspirations.</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Pupil and Personnel Services</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to the following. Additions and modifications to these representative duties and responsibilities are under the purview of the Superintendent of Schools and the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil and Personnel Services.</p> <ul> <li>Lead a comprehensive school counseling program that integrates a developmental school counseling curriculum with each middle and high school's instructional program, and student support systems; at the high school level, incorporate the Vision of the Graduate as well </li><li>Collaborate with secondary principals and curriculum directors to continuously improve the program of studies, build and manage the high school's master schedule and oversee the student course selection process; including student voice where appropriate </li><li>Oversee personalized learning pathways - a suite of instructional and support programs that provide flexible, competency-based routes to graduation and post-secondary readiness including early college, dual enrollment, internships, and other such programs </li><li>Implement and oversee a comprehensive school counseling program (Massachusetts Model 3.0 Framework for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs) including seminar classes, individual caseload oversight and providing services to all students. </li><li>Use data (including post-secondary matriculation data) to identify needs for the developmental school counseling program </li><li>Oversee the hiring, management and supervision of school counselors and school counseling operations assistant </li><li>Prepare and implement the guidance department budget. Identify, procure and manage grant funding to support students in all matters related to college and career planning </li><li>Supervise and support the professional growth and developmental learning of school counselors, external learning opportunity program coordinators and other staff supporting personalized learning initiatives. </li><li>Develop plans for the professional learning and coaching of school counselors and external learning opportunity program coordinators in the areas of academic advising, college application process, financial aid, external learning opportunities, dual enrollment requirements, early college, and other specialized programs </li><li>Coordinate with APs, school counselors, program coordinators and faculty advisors to implement MyCareer and Academic Plan (MyCAP) through grade level advisory lessons, seminar classes, classroom lessons, school-wide advising structures and whole-school events and opt-in workshops </li><li>Lead the school counselors in scheduling, academic advising and personalized student support planning </li><li>Supervise and evaluate all school counselors </li><li>Oversee and maintain student's records and transcripts at Revere High School </li><li>Partner with family liaisons to facilitate caregiver events for all secondary students, including grade-specific school counseling nights, post-secondary planning sessions, and the college guidance network </li><li>Collaborate with high school operations assistants, Citylab assistant principal and senior class assistant principal on senior scholarship management and community recognition events </li><li>Work with alumni networks to expand student mentorship, internship presence in the greater Revere community, and post-secondary guidance </li><li>Collaborate with the City of Revere, Chamber of Commerce, MassHire, Youth Works and other community partners to expand access to experiential learning, career exploration, and internship opportunities </li><li>Register and schedule all high school transfer students </li><li>Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the superintendent or assistant superintendent. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Licensed or licensable as a Supervisor/Director in School Counseling by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education </li><li>Master's or higher earned degree from an approved and accredited college or university </li><li>Evidence of at least three years of satisfactory full-time paid experience as a professional public or private school guidance counselor </li><li>Be knowledgeable of the local, state and federal education laws, rules and regulations as well as current trends in urban education </li><li>Deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and culturally responsive practices. </li><li>Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality </li><li>Outstanding interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and respect for others with ability to establish rapport with and relate to students, families and co-workers with respect, compassion, tact and understanding </li><li>Experience leading teams, managing various projects, building strong relationships and working with multiple stakeholders and teams </li><li>Talent for communicating effectively both verbally and in writing in English and preferably in one or more languages representing our community, currently Spanish/Portuguese/Arabic </li><li>Ability to work with a variety of current technologies including Microsoft Office, Google Suites, Powerschool, etc. </li></ul> <p>SCHEDULE & COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT</p> <p>Schedule, salary and benefits will be determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Revere School Committee and the Revere Administrators Association.
