<p>Overview</p> <p>NaphCare is hiring a strong Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team of medical professionals in North Brunswick, NJ, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Middlesex County Jail.</p> <p>As a Correctional LPN, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>As an LPN, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history </li><li>Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight </li><li>Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas </li><li>Administering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reaction to meds </li><li>Maintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCare </li><li>Observing patient health and mental health status </li><li>Providing emergency first aid </li><li>Providing patient education and discharge/release planning </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>New grads are encouraged to apply!</p> <p>Education / Licenses / Certifications / Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent (GED) </li><li>Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse </li><li>Possess an active CPR certification </li><li>Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening </li></ul> <p>Experience / Skills</p> <ul> <li>Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information </li><li>Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements </li></ul> <p>Physical Capabilities:</p> <p>Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.</p> <p>Why Join NaphCare?</p> <p>NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US, and we are growing.
