<p>The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading material within a warehouse, rail car, or storage facility and for effectively and efficiently staging all material at designated loading/unloading areas for distribution. Candidate must have truck driving experience.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility </li><li>Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jack, hoists, conveyors, or handling equipment to move material to and from delivery transportation vehicles and within warehouse or storage facility or work in process </li><li>Fills in when necessary to maintain flow of material </li><li>Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job </li><li>Ensures safety procedures, practices, and processes are followed at all times </li><li>Identifies potential hazards in the workplace and takes action to eliminate/minimize risks, which includes communicating to management any product availability issues </li><li>Promotes safety awareness and immediately reports any unsafe acts, conditions, or unsafe equipment within the facility </li><li>Maintains a clean and orderly work environment while ensuring housekeeping duties are completed as required </li><li>Works with assigned team and other warehouse employees to ensure positive employee relations within the team </li><li>Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies as needed </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED equivalent </li><li>Greater than 3 years of experience in a lead warehouse/material handling or production role in a warehouse or production environment </li><li>Greater than three years of experience in material handling equipment and a valid operator's license for equipment is preferred </li><li>Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in material handling field; extensive knowledge preferred </li><li>Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail </li><li>Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on instructions and safety </li><li>Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work and sense of urgency </li><li>Ability to complete necessary training and follow safety policies, procedures, and processes </li><li>Ability to hold self and assigned team accountable for areas of responsibility and for actions </li><li>Willingness and desire to perform responsibilities accurately and efficiently with a high level of customer service </li><li>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s) </li><li>Ability to successfully obtain a forklift certification (both written and practical tests) </li><li>Ability and willingness to cross train in other areas for back up coverage as needed </li><li>Demonstrates a high level of customer service </li><li>Availability and willingness to work hours outside of the normal scheduled work week and/or weekends with limited or no advance notice should it be required due to business necessity </li></ul>
