DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (VA -010) in-accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3304(a)(3) and 5 CFR 337.205(b)(1)-(4).</p> <p>Videos</p> <p>Help</p> <p>Duties</p> <p>Major Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Sorting, compiling, typing and distributing requisitions, orders and miscellaneous procurement documents. </li><li>Process micro-threshold purchase orders in the PSAS software package. </li><li>Conducts daily shipments of PSAS items to Veterans homes as instructed on clinical consults. </li><li>Understand disability codes relative to issuance of prosthetic items. </li><li>Determine legal eligibility and medical entitlement for prosthetic items and services. </li><li>Responsible receiving and educating Veterans on specialty programs such as the Annual Clothing Allowance entitlement, the Home Improvement Structural Alteration and the Automobile Adaptive Equipment programs. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining PIl for all digital and written with critical judgement of documents distributed throughout the PSAS service. </li><li>Identifying timekeeping discrepancies and correctly them in a timely manner. </li><li>Independent judgement of the procurement process in accordance with VA Handbook 1730.1 as required for the procurement of prosthetic items such as eyeglasses and shoes. </li><li>Placing purchase card orders through the use of APAT and Acuitas purchasing software, reconciling transactions in VISTA and US Bank as well as maintaining an electronic log of all transactions. </li></ul> <p>Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. For a GS-5 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-4. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.</p> <p>Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.</p> <p>GS-5: You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:</p> <ul> <li>Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. This experience should have equipped you with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to efficiently perform the responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities encompass utilizing various computer systems to retrieve, input, monitor, and handle information, as well as showcasing proficiency in time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
