<p>Hiram College seeks qualified and passionate Full-Time Nursing Faculty members to join our Department of Nursing. The ideal candidate will contribute to the academic mission of the nursing program by delivering high-quality education. This position requires a commitment to student success, collaboration with colleagues, and maintaining current, accurate nursing content. As a faculty member, you will be key in shaping future nursing professionals and supporting their educational and clinical experiences.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will possess the following:</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of nursing theory and practice, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with diverse student populations, faculty, staff, and clinical site personnel. </li><li>Plan, supervise, and evaluate students' clinical experiences, ensuring alignment with course objectives and student learning needs. </li><li>Provide guidance, direction, and support to students during clinical nursing experiences, either directly or through teaching assistants and preceptors. </li><li>Develop and update course syllabi, ensuring alignment with program objectives. </li><li>Foster an environment of academic excellence by contributing to ongoing program and course evaluations. </li><li>Provide academic advising to students, supporting their growth and development. </li><li>Participate in Department of Nursing and College governance and committees and engage in professional and community activities. </li><li>Maintain office hours, at least four hours per week over two or more days, for student support and academic advising. </li><li>Experience in teaching a nursing education program is preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to professional development and lifelong learning. </li><li>Ability to foster a positive learning environment that supports student success. </li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills. </li><li>Proficiency in using instructional technology and educational tools. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Completion of an approved registered nursing education program </li><li>Minimum two years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse. </li><li>A Master's degree is required. </li><li>If the candidate holds a BSN, the Master's degree may be in a non-nursing field, but a nursing-focused Master's degree is preferred. </li><li>A current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio. </li></ul> <p>Please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and names of three (3) professional references with address and phone numbers electronically as a Word or PDF document(s) to HR@hiram.edu.
