<p>Intermediate General Music Teacher</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic music educator to lead 5th-grade general music classes and assist with 6th-grade beginning band. This position requires an engaging individual with a passion for fostering musical growth and excitement in young students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instrumental and vocal music, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to collaboration with both middle and high school directors to support the development of a comprehensive instrumental and vocal music program.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>? Teach 5th-grade general music, providing students with foundational skills in music literacy, rhythm, and appreciation.</p> <p>? Assist with 6th-grade beginning band, offering instruction in fundamental band techniques and music literacy.</p> <p>? Collaborate with middle and high school band and choir directors to ensure a smooth transition for students progressing through the music program.</p> <p>? Incorporate Orff, guitar, and/or ukulele techniques to enhance student engagement and participation.</p> <p>? Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel encouraged and inspired to explore their musical potential.</p> <p>? Plan and execute school performances, concerts, and events in collaboration with fellow educators and directors.</p> <p>? Adapt lessons to meet the varied needs of students, maintaining a patient, supportive, and motivating classroom presence.</p> <p>? Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in music education.</p> <p>Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <p>? Valid Indiana Fine Arts teaching license for Vocal and General Music (Grades 6-8).</p> <p>? Experience and knowledge in teaching vocal music, choir, and general music.</p> <p>? At least two years of teaching experience (preferred).</p> <p>? Ability to deliver high-quality instruction in a blended learning environment.</p> <p>? Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues.</p> <p>? Effective organizational and planning abilities.</p> <p>? Proficiency in technology integration to enhance student learning.</p> <p>? Commitment to working as a team player, ensuring vertical alignment in the instrumental and vocal music programs.</p> <p>?
