We are seeking to fill the role of Resident Manager with an individual with a passion for helping others, and a desire to do good in their own community.</p> <p>Program Hiring: TAPC>Transitional Apartments and Parenting Center</p> <p>The Transitional Apartments and Parenting Center (TAPC), which is conveniently located next to the Centro Bus Hub on Salina St., is hiring Resident Managers.</p> <p>TAPC provides secure, affordable apartments, independent living skills trainings, parenting/health education, case management, on-site childcare and 24 hour staff supervision.</p> <p>This program helps homeless, pregnant and parenting adolescent girls, ages 16-21 and their children.</p> <p>The Shift Available: On-Call, As Needed</p> <p>The On-Call Resident Manager is enlisted to cover work shifts that become available due to current staff who are not available to work their assigned shifts.</p> <p>We know ahead of time the shifts that need coverage, however, should a staff member become unable to work their assigned shift at the last minute, we will ask our On-Call staff to cover.</p> <p>This position will provide structured therapeutic and supportive activities for residents, and is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the facility.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Enforce program rules including resident and guest sign-in; monitor phone and door; conduct regular building tours; and provide crisis and emergency intervention. </li><li>Will partner with On-Call Supervisor to maintain the safety and security of the residents and the facility. </li><li>Develop and maintain appropriate, supportive and positive individual and group relations in compliance with individual case management goal plans and program guidelines to facilitate the successful completion of individual and program goals. </li><li>Maintain written records of interaction with residents to ensure program accountability. </li><li>Participate in staff meetings; attend training sessions; maintain staff log; facilitate resident group meetings; and assist in maintenance of facility and completion of clerical tasks to ensure program quality, professional growth, communication and consistency within TAPC staff team. </li><li>Supervise, plan and participate in organized social, recreational and education activities with residents as scheduled and approved by the Director to promote individual learning and community connectedness. </li><li>Provide community education and awareness. </li><li>Demonstrate cultural competence, as well as integrate understanding into daily responsibilities </li><li>Participate in meeting the objectives of The Salvation Army, Syracuse Area Services Strategic Plan. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED or equivalent required. </li><li>Minimum of one year experience working with adolescents or young adults required. </li><li>Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain CPR certification. </li><li>Ability to diffuse crisis situations both within team settings and independently. </li><li>Ability to document program events and carry out scheduled or spontaneous tasks </li><li>Capable of applying all assigned training topics </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer: The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer and committed to providing a respectful environment for all applicants and employees</p> <p>that is free from unlawful discrimination or harassment based on age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, marital status, disability, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or any other characteristic protected by law.</p>
