<p>Job Title: Research Support Assistant</p> <p>Grade: 11</p> <p>Salary: $45,119- $48,119</p> <p>The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a full-time Research Support Assistant III position for the Division of Substance Use Disorders at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Seeking a self-motivated, hard-working, detail-oriented individual for full-time employment as a Research Assistant in Columbia University's Department of Psychiatry's Division on Substance Use Disorders. This individual will work at the Division's STARS facility (Substance Treatment and Research Service) located at 3 Columbus Circle under the supervision of Amy Mahony, LMHC as an employee of the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH). The individual will work some evening and weekend hours. This individual must possess excellent organizational skills, exercise good judgment and the ability to work without continuous supervision in research setting with ongoing clinical trials.</p> <p>We're looking for at least a 2-year work commitment for this position, the duration of employment is contingent on continuous funding.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>This Research Assistant will be involved in several clinical trials that evaluate the effectiveness of medications for treating drug dependence. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Subject recruitment </li><li>Conducting telephone screening interviews </li><li>Implementing research studies described in the funded grants as approved by the IRB </li><li>Maintaining case reports forms </li><li>Data maintenance/entry, helping with data analysis and graphics </li><li>Maintaining study supplies and equipment </li><li>Scheduling participant appointments </li><li>Administering selected study instruments and coordinate self-report instruments </li><li>Drawing blood (will be trained if not already a certified phlebotomist, perform urine drug screens, vital signs and EKGs) </li><li>Handling IRB and NIH correspondence </li><li>Assisting with grant and manuscript preparation </li><li>Assisting with hospital admissions and discharges </li><li>Running of patients in the in-patient unit </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Must be certified in phlebotomy or willing to obtain certification before drawing any blood samples </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be well-organized and have excellent interpersonal skills </li><li>Flexible work schedule and the ability to travel between research sites </li><li>Must be meticulous in carrying out research protocols and enjoy working with human subjects </li><li>Must be familiar with various software programs (e.g. Excel, Word, RedCap). </li><li>(1) year experience in behavioral science and/or human subjects research strongly preferred </li></ul> <p>Work Location: 3 Columbus Circle, Suite 1408, New York, NY 10019</p> <p>To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://nyspi.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
