We have an exciting opportunity for health care employees or entry level candidates looking to join our Front Office team as an Administrative Support Associate.</p> <p>An ideal candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, both independently and on a team. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday during normal business hours of 8:00AM-4:30PM. We've been voted Best Hospital in the Times Union's annual readers' poll for two consecutive years.</p> <p>For more information about Albany Med, visit our website at amc.edu and interact with us on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <ul> <li>Assist all patients that report to the front check in desk. </li><li>Greet patients in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. </li><li>Interact with a diverse patient population. </li><li>Utilize the electronic medical record to maintain patient records via registration process and scan functionality. </li><li>Update insurance information, attending appointment, collect patient co-pays and other duties as assigned at the time of patient check in for scheduled appointments </li><li>Be knowledgeable with state and government agencies to provide proper consents for patients who are wards of the state; work with facilities to obtain proper consents from patient proxies. </li><li>Schedule follow up appointments and referral as needed when patients check out </li><li>Communicate professionally and timely with all parties, including providers, patients, clinical care team, and insurance company </li><li>Answer incoming phone calls and direct appropriately to team members </li><li>Conveys professional image by adhering to the established dress code. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li></ul> <p>Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent customer service skills </li><li>Ability to multi-task and high patient volume unit </li><li>Ability to learn and utilize resources </li><li>Strong time management skills </li><li>Ability to review information and draw appropriate conclusions </li><li>Good judgement and ability to problem solve; escalate issues as needed </li><li>Strong team orient work ethic </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>No experience required. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills preferred </li><li>Experience using an electronic health record and Microsoft Office a plus! </li><li>Preferred 2-3 years office experience or one year of related experience in a medical practice </li></ul> <p>Thank you for your interest in Albany Medical Center!</p> <p>Albany Medical is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Medical Center, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
