We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.</p> <p>1st 90 days will be onsite then the potential for 1 day per week remote</p> <p>This position is shared between 2 sites (North End & Charlestown)</p> <p>The Director of Nursing is accountable for the delivery of consistent, high quality patient care and promotion of development and satisfaction of nursing and non-physician clinical staff. S/he will be expected to develop and implement operational efficiencies and ensure compliance with regulatory policies and standards of practice.</p> <p>This role is an essential leadership position at NEW Health, encompassing patient focused management, personnel management, programmatic/strategic/regulatory involvement, and development of collaborative and team partnerships within the organization.</p> <p>The Director of Nursing will have lead nurses in each unit managing the day-to-day operations at each site (North End, Charlestown, & Charlestown High School).</p> <p>PATIENT CARE:</p> <ul> <li>Promotes an environment that is sensitive to the culturally diverse needs of patients and employees. </li><li>Evaluates the outcomes of patient care; uses patient satisfaction and population health information to recommend and integrate appropriate changes. Manages abnormal PAP tracking program. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Serves as co-chair of QI/QA Committee which evaluates quality and safety performance, identifies improvement opportunities, and plans and implements programs for improvement. </li><li>Supervises laboratory services provided at all sites, and phlebotomist staff, in conjunction with the nursing lab supervisor (who handles day to day issues and lab competencies). </li><li>Leads nursing staff meetings. </li><li>Has oversight of the vaccine management program implemented by lead nursing staff. </li><li>Oversees PCMH and Joint Commission Standards for clinical compliance. </li><li>Participates in the collection of clinical data needed for the HRSA Uniform Data System, UDS. </li></ul> <p>ADMINISTRATION:</p> <ul> <li>Serves as a member of the Safety Committee and conducts vulnerability rounds with Director of Safety and COO. </li><li>Serves as the Chair of Infection Control Committee, and collaborates with the CMO, clinical staff and committee members to develop, review and implement processes and policies for infection control. </li><li>Conducts clinical Policy/Procedure/Process review and revision/development in conjunction with leadership. </li><li>Orchestrates annual employee flu vaccination program in conjunction with MGH Occupational Health. </li><li>Participates as a key member in preparing for and participating in regulatory surveys (DPH, JC, BPHC). </li><li>Attends meetings (eg Department Head, JC, and Quality and Safety Board meetings) as necessary. </li><li>Participates in strategic planning activities. </li><li>Works on special projects as necessary or as directed by the CMO, CEO and/or the COO. </li></ul> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Directs, plans and coordinates the service activities and staffing performance of professional nursing and auxiliary nursing personnel in rendering quality patient care.
