<p>Acad Program Coord - Biological Sciences</p> <p>POSITION DETAILS</p> <p>The Academic Program Coordinator will report to Admin Specialist (HE Assistant). This role is crucial in facilitating effective</p> <p>communication between students and faculty, particularly within the Biology major, and in supporting students' academic</p> <p>success through a variety of administrative and advisory functions.</p> <p>In addition to cuny title overview, responsibilities include the following:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a primary point of contact for current and former students, faculty, and staff, addressing inquiries via phone, </li></ul> <p>email, and in-person regarding academic policies and resolving issues.</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate communication between students and faculty advisors to enhance understanding and engagement within the </li></ul> <p>Biology major.</p> <ul> <li>Assist students with the completion of forms and requests to administrative offices such as the Bursar and Registrar, </li></ul> <p>ensuring clarity and accuracy.</p> <ul> <li>Address course registration issues, including obtaining special permissions, requisite approvals, and facilitating waiver </li></ul> <p>requests to ensure a smooth registration process.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate records for Change of Grade forms; gather necessary documentation for transfer credit evaluations </li></ul> <p>and monitor the evaluation process to provide timely updates to students.</p> <ul> <li>Help coordinate course scheduling and ensure students have access to essential registration information and textbook </li></ul> <p>details.</p> <ul> <li>Assist in maintaining and updating departmental course rosters to ensure accurate tracking of course offerings and </li></ul> <p>enrollment.</p> <ul> <li>Support the management of departmental databases related to curriculum, major lists, and student records through </li></ul> <p>data entry, organization, and regular updates.</p> <ul> <li>Assist in organizing and administering departmental student engagement activities, such as workshops and seminars, to </li></ul> <p>promote academic success and community building.</p> <ul> <li>Provide general academic advisement to students in the Biology major, helping them navigate their academic paths </li></ul> <p>effectively.</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the development of training materials and workshops to support new faculty in understanding academic </li></ul> <p>advising processes.</p> <ul> <li>Supervises part-time college assistants and work-study students assigned to assist with relevant duties. </li><li>Drafts advising notices and other related correspondence on behalf of the department. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree required.</p> <p>CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW</p> <p>Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a College's specialized academic program.</p> <ul> <li>Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration </li><li>Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities </li><li>Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students </li><li>Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards </li><li>Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures </li><li>May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget </li><li>Performs related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Job Title Name: Academic Program Coordinator</p> <p>CUNY TITLE</p> <p>Assistant to HEO</p> <p>FLSA</p> <p>Non-exempt</p> <p>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</p> <p>Salary commensurate with education and experience ($68,245 - $86,188).</p> <p>CUNY's benefits contribute significantly to total compensation, supporting health and wellness, financial well-being, and</p> <p>professional development.
