<p>Provides direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse ("RN"), cleans specific equipment, transports patients, and handles inventory control.</p> <p>Nursing Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs direct and indirect patient care activities following RN instructions, physician orders, policies, procedures and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitates the flow of patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Helps discharge patients from the ASC.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with prepping the patient for surgery.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a constant flow of patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates understanding of Emergency procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains supplies as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates repair orders to <p>Works effectively with co-workers to resolve identified problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Registration:</p> </li><li> <p>Customer service - Patient greeting, assistance.</p> </li><li> <p>Patient charts - Prep, sign in documents.</p> </li><li> <p>Prep:</p> </li><li> <p>Use electronic scheduling system to identify waiting patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Give assignment on schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Greet patient.</p> </li><li> <p>Change patient in appropriate area with direction.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists pre-op patient as needed (age appropriateness/disability).</p> </li><li> <p>Use of lockers and chart documentation of secured valuables.</p> </li><li> <p>Select chair/stretcher appropriate to surgical case.</p> </li><li> <p>Collection and completion of urine pregnancy testing with nurse notification.</p> </li><li> <p>Application and completion of vital signs, including Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, oxygen saturation, and temperature.</p> </li><li> <p>Verbalizes use of glucometer.</p> </li><li> <p>Communication as needed to healthcare personnel regarding patient concerns, change in status, or abnormal results.</p> </li><li> <p>Use of electronic health record ("EHR") to access needed pre-op labs.</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of EKG's.</p> </li><li> <p>Access EHR program for old EKG's.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with bringing family to bedside.</p> </li><li> <p>PACU I / II:</p> </li><li> <p>Assist receiving patient, including place module in monitor.</p> </li><li> <p>Collect vital signs.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide warm blankets or gather necessary warming device.</p> </li><li> <p>Copy discharge instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with retrieving family members to PACU I.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide nutrition as directed by RN.</p> </li><li> <p>Notify healthcare professional of changes in patient recovery status (nausea, pain).</p> </li><li> <p>Retrieve Patient belongings.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide assistance to patients for discharge (i.e., crutches, wheelchair rides)</p> </li><li> <p>Remove I.V.'s.</p> </li><li> <p>Collects discharge signature of patient escort.</p> </li><li> <p>Refers any and all question or problems to healthcare professional personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Strips, cleans, and remakes patient stretchers and chairs.</p> </li><li> <p>Miscellaneous:</p> </li><li> <p>Restock Urine pregnancy test kits / glucometer strips.</p> </li></ul> <p>Inventory Control Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Fill requests and issue product in a timely manner consistent with their priority.</p> </li><li> <p>Receive incoming deliveries, validate receipts in Workday, break down boxes and put stock away.</p> </li><li> <p>Create product returns</p> </li><li> <p>Follow up on orders until received and/or filled.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend mandatory training sessions as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Verify items ordered meet standards for quality and consistency.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to special pick-ups and/or deliveries in emergency situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Check in the implants and return after OR case is completed.</p> </li><li> <p>Check inventory daily and stock the shelves with necessary supplies.</p> </li></ul> <p>0-1 year related work experience, required. 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.</p> </li><li> <p>Good interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.</p> </li><li>
