New platforms emerge rapidly, privacy and policy changes occur frequently, and network products and user experiences are continuously innovating. User behavior and loyalty shift, and new ways to leverage data, content, and technology are developed. Geopolitical events and changes in company leadership add to the industry's volatility.</p> <p>The Social Media Center of Excellence is part of Lilly's Digital Engagement and Creative Capabilities organization, joining leaders from the Enterprise Websites (EWI), Search Capabilities, and Creative Capabilities teams who collectively design and deploy integrated, innovative, and scalable digital marketing strategies, solutions and content that address customer and business needs across Business Units, Functions, and Geographies.</p> <p>Lilly recognizes the need to keep a continuous pulse on the Social Media landscape to ensure its solutions and expertise remain compliant and relevant as it strives to meet the needs of consumers and customers when and where they want to engage with us. The Senior Director of Social Media is charged with leading and coaching a highly motivated team of experts and resourcing compliant and scalable operating models for Social Media Listening, Strategy and Operations, and Community Management, while driving channel innovation in collaboration with the Digital Engagement Tech@Lilly, Search Capabilities, Enterprise Websites, Brand Partnerships, Paid Media, and Brand teams, as well as other Cross- Functional Partners across the globe.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Senior Director of Social Media will lead a team of experts to share platform-specific data and insights, develop strategies for audience engagement, enhance operational and technical capabilities, drive innovation, and implement best practices to achieve global business objectives.</p> <ul> <li>Foster innovation and steer the long-term vision for the Social Media Center of Excellence to be a best-in-any class capability supporting Lilly's mission and vision. Lead, scope, and scale Social Media strategy, operating model, staffing, resources, and technology, and coach team of subject matter experts to implement the vision. </li><li>Inspire a data-driven culture, guiding cross-functional teams with advanced analytics to optimize brand strategies, elevate performance metrics, and drive sustainable business growth. Obsessively test and learn to optimize processes, content and performance. </li><li>Deliver breakthrough, digital-first content across paid and organic, resulting in high-performing paid content and owned content that is compelling enough to be shared on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, and YouTube, elevating brand presence and achieving significant KPIs, all within the framework of regulatory compliance and brand integrity. </li><li>Prioritize Risk Mitigation. Secure cross-functional collaboration to assess new promotional delivery methods, obtaining appropriate reviews, approvals and/or change- orders and completing appropriate documentation to enable compliance. Ensure Social Platforms and Campaigns operate with strict compliance per all company procedures, promotional guidelines and practices, privacy policies, and all other relevant FDA- and/or quality- or process-related policies and procedures. Partner with Ethics & Compliance, Tech@Lilly, Brand Teams, Legal, Enablement, and Privacy to ensure appropriate execution of channel marketing and/or communications strategies. Demonstrate knowledge and commitment to all applicable laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Digital and Social media-related activities. </li><li>Chair Global Social Media Enablement Team (GSMET), which governs the approval and enablement of new Social Media platforms and accounts, as well as use cases or implementation strategy changes to existing Social Media platforms and accounts. Serve as Social Media Agency Business Owner, Social Listening Platform Owner, and Content Publishing & Community Engagement Platform Owner. </li><li>Facilitate cross-functional collaborations and ongoing communication with key internal and external partners (e.g., Consumer & HCP Paid Media, Search Capabilities, EWI, Brand Partnerships, Business Intelligence & Analytics, and Consumer and HCP Brand Teams) to align on Social Media strategy and objectives, set expectations, lead service level agreements and/or funding models, determine priorities, and deliver solutions with measurable results. Initiate exchange of learning and outcomes and replicate best practices. </li><li>Grow ongoing connections with External Social Media Platforms and Digital Third- Party Experts (e.g., Social Networks, Gartner, Conference Board, SocialMedia.org, Content Houses) to stay ahead of evolving Social Media technology and product offerings. </li><li>Recruit, develop, and inspire diverse skilled Social Media marketing talent and champion an inclusive, entrepreneurial "Team of Teams" leadership style to develop and advance the next generation of Lilly leaders. Coach and mentor to manage team performance, develop marketing competencies, and help teammates chart successful career paths and development plans at Lilly. </li></ul> <p>Basic Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of 12+ years of progressive experience in brand strategy or digital marketing, with at least 10+ years in a leadership role. </li><li>Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position. </li></ul> <p>Strong Preferences:</p> <ul> <li>MBA or advanced degree </li><li>Demonstrated success in developing innovative marketing campaigns and activations that align with business objectives, capture consumer attention, drive engagement and deliver measurable business results. </li><li>Strong leadership and leadership skills with experience in leading and developing high-performing teams. </li><li>Proficiency in analyzing data and metrics to inform decision-making and optimize marketing strategies. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and strategies to partners at all levels.Proven experience leading initiatives to optimize compliance and operational effectiveness, including performing internal and/or external audits and working with external consultants. </li></ul> <p>Additional Preferences:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in enterprise digital and/or social media management and capacity planning platforms and tools (e.g. Sprinklr, NetBase, Quid, Adobe Workfront). </li><li>Proven track record as a Digital Marketing Innovator with understanding of Social Media's role within the broader Digital Engagement landscape. </li><li>Deep understanding of current trends, best practices, and technologies in social media. The anticipated wage for this position is</p> <p>$150,000 - $220,000</p> <p>Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
