Collaboration with the surgical team, and under the supervision of a RN, assumes responsibility for the care and safety of patients during surgical procedures. Facilitates communication between the surgeon, perioperative team, and other hospital departments.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Formal Education Required</p> <ul> <li>Completion of an accredited program for First Assisting. </li><li>Certified Surgical Technician (CST) preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience & Training Required</p> <ul> <li>Completion of required clinical experience during education process is required. </li><li>BCLS certification </li></ul> <p>Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Possess manual dexterity for assisting skills </li><li>Ability to work irregular hours </li><li>Ability to maintain patient confidentiality </li><li>Maintains current knowledge of nursing practices/procedures related to care of surgical patients </li><li>Ability to work independently </li><li>Ability to foster good working relationships with other departments and OR staff members, and to work closely with all members of the peri-operative team, physicians, patients/families, etc. to assure optimal peri-operative nursing care. </li><li>Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. </li></ul> <p>Level of Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects. </li><li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. </li><li>Occasional carrying, climbing of stairs, and exposure to dust, fumes or gas. </li><li>Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and twisting. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled</p> <p>$34.74/hr - $41.69/hr</p> <p>The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.
