<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Dean of Natural & Health Sciences and the Chair of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program, the Instructor of the PTA Program will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses within the PTA program. Furthermore, this position will be involved in curriculum review and on-going program assessments required by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). In conjunction with the Chair of the PTA program, this position may also be responsible for student advising.</p> <p>EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in physical therapy, or a closely related field, or equivalent is required. A graduate degree in a physical therapy-related field is highly preferred.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>National Certification as a Physical Therapist is required;</p> <p>Ability to teach courses in health science education required with prior experience teaching physical therapy at the college-level being highly desirable;</p> <p>Ability to use techniques and equipment consistent with Physical Therapist education;</p> <p>Current CPR certification;</p> <p>Candidate must be able to meet clinical site CORI requirements pursuant to licensing and CAPTE regulations;</p> <p>Health requirements:</p> <p>Two MMR's or positive titers indicating immunity;</p> <p>Three Hepatitis B;</p> <p>Varicella antibody titers;</p> <p>TD within 10 years;</p> <p>Annual negative PPD or Chest X-ray within 7 years for positive responders;</p> <p>Annual flu shot.</p> <p>Qualified applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None</p> <p>TRAVEL: This position may require teaching at both the Quincy and Plymouth Campuses. If teaching on multiple campuses is required, scheduled assignments will be made to make sure that the Instructor teaches on one campus per day.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Assume teaching responsibilities for content in courses within the Physical Therapist Assistant Program;</p> <p>Maintain appropriate classroom-related documentation and reports required by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE);</p> <p>Assist the Chair of the PTA Program in curriculum review and the continual assessment of course and program outcomes;</p> <p>In collaboration with program instructors, recommend to the Dean of Natural and Health Sciences, appropriate items for inclusion in the Science Department annual budget;</p> <p>In collaboration with the PTA Clinical Coordinator, order supplies and equipment as needed;</p> <p>Participate in recruitment activities on behalf of Quincy College and the Physical Therapist Program;</p> <p>Serve on science and college organizational committees;</p> <p>Maintain scheduled office hours</p> <p>Advise Students</p> <p>Attend divisional and campus wide meetings</p> <p>In collaboration with program instructors and Dean, address and resolve student issues;</p> <p>Participate in mandatory training/coursework.
