<p>Please note this posting originates in the Nahant Public Schools and not in the Swampscott public Schools all quesitions should be directed to Kevin Andrews, prinicipal of the Johnson School, info below.</p> <p>Long Term substitute to teach General Music, Instrumental Music and Band.</p> <p>The new hire will teach</p> <ul> <li>grades K-6 General Music 1 day per week at the Johnson School (.2FTE) </li></ul> <p>and, depending on interest, experience, and skill set</p> <ul> <li>grade 4-6 Instrumental lessons and after school band 1 day per week at the Johnson School </li></ul> <p>and potentially partner with a neighboring school district</p> <ul> <li>3 days per week (.6FTE) in a neighboring district to result in </li></ul> <p>a potential 4 day (.8FTE) teaching position and 1 day of instrumental lessons for 5 days of educational work.</p> <p>Descriptions of these 2 positions :</p> <p>General Music:</p> <ul> <li>Teach students the fundamental principles of music and musicianship skills based on Massachusetts Fine Arts Standards including singing, playing instruments, composing, improvising, and making cross-curricular connections. </li><li>Teach students how to sing and play accessible instruments such as percussion, recorders, handbells, ukuleles, and xylophones. </li><li>Use up-to-date software and websites to teach music. </li><li>Teach choral music to Grade K-6 including preparing and directing twice-annual concerts. </li><li>Piano experience a plus. </li></ul> <p>Instrumental Music- Contract work - 1 day per week</p> <p>Provide introductory music lessons during the school day in the follow instruments : trumpet, clarinet, percussion, trombone, and flute.</p> <p>Manage and implement an after school band program.</p> <p>Please send a cover letter, resume, college transcripts, certification, and three letters of reference</p>
