<p>We are seeking a part-time Wellness Specialist who will be reporting to the Director of Student Wellness, Advocacy and Violence Prevention. The Wellness and Primary Prevention Specialist will help serve students by providing support in case management, screening and referral and linkage to community resources. The Specialist will support the Wellness Center in providing Passaic County Community College (PCCC) students with any referrals pertaining to mental, emotional, and physical health, as well as overall well-being to on-campus resources and those in the community. Additionally, the Specialist will help design and implement programming on wellness topics of mental and emotional health, suicide prevention, healthy relationships, violence prevention, anti-hazing and drug and alcohol education.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Support the wellness staff in their work with the College community to co-create a safe space for students who are experiencing mental health issues, food and housing insecurity and/or intimate partner violence. </li><li>Collaborate with campus organizations such as PTK, EOF, SSS, and Student Activities expand the utilization of Wellness Center services </li><li>Greet and triage that are referred or self-referred to the office. </li><li>Work with students on locating community resources. </li><li>Provide support for students and offer individual as well as group support through the implementation of on-campus programming. </li><li>Design and implement programming on campus to provide students with resources and information about wellness related topics including mental and emotional health, physical well-being, healthy relationships, drug and alcohol awareness, anti-hazing and domestic violence community resources. </li><li>Provide the College community with information on wellness and prevention resources. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's required; Master's degree in a social work program preferred </li><li>Certified Social Worker in the State of New Jersey preferred </li><li>One (1) or two (2) years' experience working with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, and to maintain good working relationships across the College. </li><li>Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities. </li><li>Familiarity with mental health and community resources within Passaic County. </li></ul> <p>The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.</p> <p>Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $21-$25.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>New Jersey Sick Leave: Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year.
