<p>Position Description: The District Support Cook will receive daily school assignment from the Director of Nutrition and Food Service, and be dispatched to schools requiring additional support during the day. The District Support Cook will take instruction from the Lead Cook at any given school on the tasks in which need to be completed for the day.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities: Required to perform all aspects of meal production, serving, ala carte sales Perform duties assigned by Lead Cook, including standing for long periods of time and lifting 35 lbs without assistance Required to operate all commercial equipment in kitchen including convection ovens, mixers, food processor, meat slicer and microwave Maintain daily production records Clean as assigned by cook, working with various household and industrial cleaners such as chlorine bleach, grease cutters, oven cleaners and sanitizer Maintain high standards of work habits, sanitation and safety Must keep hair restrained at all times when working with food Must wear vinyl or plastic gloves while handling food Understand oral and written instruction Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality Must deal courteously with the students, staff, parents and public Maintains an effective working relationship with other employees Attends all food service meetings and participates in the in-service training programs as scheduled by the department</p> <p>Skills and Knowledge Required: Basic computer skills/Cash Register Machinery related to job assignments Ability to be flexible and handle a variety of tasks Ability to work cooperatively with others Knowledge of basic operations of a school cafeteria Demonstrates a knowledge of basic math The ability to express a service oriented attitude, communicate effectively with others and work with limited supervision</p> <p>Education: High school or equivalency diploma. I deal candidate is Serve Safe certified, however NOT a requirement.</p> <p>Physical Activity: Duties are typically performed in areas related to the kitchen. Work is performed walking or standing. Physical stamina is required to tolerate continuous standing, stooping, reaching, walking, bending and lifting objects weighing up to 35 lbs. is required</p>
