Responsibilities include providing first point of contact friendly patient services; scheduling patients; accurate and effective scheduling; treatment consultations and excellent patient service.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Exemplify excellent patient care. </li><li>Foster a positive attitude at work when interacting with staff and patients and be a team player. </li><li>Practice First Choice Dental's philosophy of direct communication. </li><li>Perform work in an efficient manner and be timely with patient care. </li><li>Provide coverage at other sites when requested. </li><li>Respect patient privacy through professionalism and confidentiality. </li><li>Initiate ideas for ways the site can improve or become more efficient. </li><li>Maintain effective organizational skills and a high attention to detail. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>DAILY RESPONSIBILITES: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Accurately schedule patient appointments via phone or in person. </li><li>Answer phones by warmly greeting the caller. </li><li>Fill the schedule when there are openings or cancellations. </li><li>Complete appointment verification process. </li><li>Refer patients to proper specialist/office based on clinical need(s) and/or insurance. </li><li>Verify insurance coverage for patient when necessary. </li><li>Review prior day's claims for accuracy. </li><li>Post any patient payments received by mail. </li><li>Run end of day reports for proper deposit balance. </li><li>Batch credit card machine and verify all transactions. </li><li>Provide daily deposit to clinical administrator for approval. </li><li>Deliver cash deposit to financial institution. </li><li>Confirm patient's upcoming appointment. </li><li>Review account ledgers and perform breakdowns to understand the patient balance. </li><li>File patient charts and paperwork. </li><li>Monitor patient communication software. </li><li>Transfer charts as needed. </li><li>Sort and distribute mail. </li><li>Inactivate patient accounts when requested. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>PATIENT CHECK IN RESPONSIBILITIES: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Greet all patients warmly. </li><li>Verify the patient's information. </li><li>Verify patient communication preference. </li><li>Notify clinical staff of patient arrival. </li><li>Provide new patients with appropriate paperwork. </li><li>Enter new patient paperwork and verify any necessary information. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>PATIENT CHECK OUT RESPONSIBILITIES: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Greet the patient during hand-off from clinical staff. </li><li>Verify that all treatment has been entered into the ledger. </li><li>Submit claim for the day's procedures. </li><li>Collect any balance due. </li><li>Run third party financing transactions. </li><li>Post payments. </li><li>Schedule next appointments for the patient. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TREATMENT PLANS: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Understand and follow First Choice Dental's financial policy. </li><li>Answer financial questions. </li><li>Establish financial arrangements. </li><li>Secure a signed financial arrangement for recommended treatment. </li><li>Provide patient information about upcoming treatment (i.e. brochures, appointment card, treatment plan, etc.). </li></ul> <ol start="6"> <li>INSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Understand insurance coverage and be able to explain coverage to patients. </li><li>Submit insurance pre-determinations and follow up with the patient. </li><li>Complete new insurance breakdowns and submit to insurance department. </li><li>Review Fast Attach for necessary attachments. Review EDS for denied claims and correct as necessary. </li><li>Process insurance appeals. </li></ul> <ol start="7"> <li>CONTINUING CARE RESPONSIBILITIES: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Contact patients who are past due for their recall appointments. </li><li>Make last minute calls to fill hygiene schedules. </li><li>Follow our continuing care protocol and review connected hygiene appointments. </li></ul>
