<p>This position offers a base salary range of $76,512 - $127,520 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonus based on company performance. OVERVIEW Leads the design of building programs: New and future prototype building designs, remodels, refreshes, and existing store rollout programs. Leads with a brand vision and provides customer-driven design solutions and brand integrity to drive business objectives. Works collaboratively with Environment Designers, Architects and Engineers to take design concepts from visionary to executable and scalable outcomes. Provides schematic design documentation to AandE leads to execute CDs. Adapts design solutions to all store designs creating a consistency across all formats. Provides design direction for new store rollouts when jurisdictional requirements are required. Promotes a positive work environment while managing the designers day to day performance and growth. RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned) 1. Define measurable, individual performance goals, monitor, and communicate via regular feedback and annual performance reviews. 2. Provide developmental opportunities for all direct reports. 3. Lead the direct reports by assigning work, providing creative direction, ensuring consistency in execution of brand identity and brand environments, and building a positive culture to support a high performing team mindset. 4. Monitor all aspects of design projects to ensure completion within timeline and budget. 5. Lead the design of interior and exterior retail design projects including but not be limited to: Design Intent Documentation (DID) and Schematic Design Documentation, retail space planning, rendered elevations (AutoCAD), space planning (AutoCAD), 3D Modeling (SketchUp), source, and specify fixtures, millwork, and customer journey maps and signage, shop drawing reviews, CD reviews, equipment and merchandising layouts, kitchen and back of house layouts, ADA and life safety compliant design 6. Direct, manage and partner with external consultants for design projects. Responsible for quality control and assurance checks to ensure the design intent is brand right and executed on time and on budget. 7. Lead and develop design intent documentation for architecture partners. Maintain design leadership and advocate for design integrity and accuracy throughout the lifecyle of the project, including DD/CD review, shop drawings reviews and construction. 8. Partner with in-house stakeholders and coordinate project driving alignments with cross-functional partners. Partners include - Design teams, Sales and Marketing, Store Ops, Architecture and Engineering, Store Support, Real Estate and Permitting, Procurement and Sourcing, Construction, and Project Management. 9. Support the Store Support team with design direction and high level execution drawings to support the design solution strategy. Provide design support to execution teams to ensure brand right and consistent execution balancing design with operational needs and budget objectives for to go-back projects, pilots, and rollouts. 10. Develop design documentation to support design intent, including schematic drawings and finish palettes and manage the production of construction documents by internal and external architects and consultants. 11. Effectively plan, manage, balance, prioritize and execute upon multiple projects, simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to meet tight timeline requirements for other supporting departments. 12. Direct, manage, and partner with external consultants for design projects. Responsible for quality control & assurance checks to ensure the design intent is brand right and executed on time and on budget. 13. Create visual positioning boards in Mural or similar design collaboration software, on assigned projects, to comprehensively represent project evolution and process through design concept finalization QUALIFICATIONS (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered) Education • Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field required Experience • Minimum 6 years professional interior architectural experience in designing retail building renovations and/or new construction for commercial buildings required. • Minimum 4 years working experience AutoCAD and SketchUp required. • Minumum 4 years experience presenting design concepts to peers, managers, clients, and executive leadership required. • Minumum 4 years experience in space planning, basic ADA, human ergonomics, and applies this basic understanding to design solutions designing in scale and proportion required. • Minimum 4 years working experience in retail interiors and exteriors and construction documents and implementation of design elements in CD sets required. • Minumum 4 years experience in collaborating with cross-functional partners and key stakeholders including architects, marketing, store ops, real estate, category leads, procurement, vendors and construction teams required. • Minimum 4 years experience in understanding of customer journey and how to execute solutions through this lens required. • Minimum 2 years supervisor experience required. • Minimum 2 years project management experience required.
