<p>PURPOSE OF POSITION</p> <p>The primary purpose of the LDRP Tech is to assist with the care of patients in the Birth Center through their stay by providing patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and perform duties of vital signs , point of care testing, venipuncture, EKG, stocking, patient transport, and other patient care duties as assigned.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Reports to charge nurse to receive instructions for the shift. </li><li>Vitals Signs, blood glucose monitoring, draw blood work, obtain urine sample, complete EKG as ordered/directed. </li><li>Removal of peripheral IV's and foley catheters as directed. </li><li>QC of blood glucose monitors and maintain supplies. </li><li>Provides safe environment for patients: 2-hour purposeful rounding, assists to bathroom safely, transports patients both within and off of unit, discharging patient to car via wheelchair. </li><li>1 :1 companionship as assigned. </li><li>Assist with daily hygiene needs of patients. </li><li>Provide a clean organized environment: clean equipment, Strip rooms, stocking of rooms and unit supplies, keeping hallways free of clutter or equipment. </li><li>Assist with delivery set up and breakdown. </li><li>Assists staff nurse with additional duties as needed or as delegated. </li><li>Basic computer skills and charting. </li><li>Answering call lights. </li><li>Respectful communication and appropriate use of time. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate, minimum 18 years old </li><li>Medical tech and venipuncture experience preferred. </li><li>Understands and adheres to all policies and regulations. </li><li>Ability to handle public tactfully. </li><li>Displays a positive attitude and respect for patients, visitors, and peers. </li></ul> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, identity, family status, gender, disability, or veteran status.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Shifts vary to provide coverage and meet the needs of the unit </li><li>Primary responsibility is patient care. </li><li>Lunch periods and breaks are assigned and coordinated with other staff member to maintain adequate departmental coverage. </li><li>Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day. </li><li>Sitting/standing/moving about during working hours </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ADDENDUM</p> <p>PURPOSE: To identify specific functions job requirements and work environment factors that could affect job performance.</p> <p>O = Occasionally = 0- 33% of the work shift or 0- 32 repetitions.</p> <p>F = Frequently = 34-66% of the work shift or 32-200+ repetitions.</p> <p>C = Constantly = 67-100% of the work shift or 200+ repetitions.</p> <p>N = Not essential job requirement.</p> <p>Activity</p> <p>How Often Performed</p> <p>Standing</p> <p>C</p> <p>Walking</p> <p>C</p> <p>Lifting (70 pounds)</p> <p>O</p> <p>Carrying (70 pounds)</p> <p>O</p> <p>Pushing (70 pounds)</p> <p>O</p> <p>Climbing with (70 pounds)</p> <p>O</p> <p>Stooping/Bending</p> <p>F</p> <p>Twisting/Turning</p> <p>F</p> <p>Kneeling/Squatting</p> <p>O</p> <p>Crawling</p> <p>N</p> <p>Reaching Up/Reaching Forward</p> <p>F</p>
