Veterinary assistants are responsible for maintaining a clean and stocked hospital, providing basic animal care needs, and helping the team work more efficiently to complete orders and patient treatments. Tasks include patient restraint, set-up, and clean-up for specific procedures including knowledge of specific equipment, stocking and cleaning of patient care areas, and transportation of equipment and supplies between all areas of the hospital.
