The Ignite Program for Independent Youth, in accordance with college guidelines and policies, follows the grant agreements with the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. The Ignite Program Coordinator will implement and coordinate facets of the program and monitor and evaluate all components of the program under the direction of the Director of Nina & Ignite Scholar Programs.</p> <ul> <li>This position is grant funded. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills & Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms) and other productivity tools. </li><li>Familiarity with student information systems and program management software (e.g., Canvas, Salesforce, or similar platforms) is a plus. </li><li>Understanding of FERPA and other privacy regulations governing student records and information. </li><li>Experience with social media platforms and marketing tools to assist in outreach, recruitment, and communications efforts. </li></ul> <p>Other Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Student Advocacy & Support: Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality student services with a strong commitment to student success, problem-solving, and proactive support. </li><li>Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders in both in-person and virtual formats. </li><li>Program Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience in event planning, marketing, and outreach initiatives. </li><li>Mentoring: Ability to coach and mentor students on academic and potential personal challenges while connecting them with appropriate resources. </li><li>Data Tracking & Reporting: Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data to assess student outcomes and support decision-making. </li><li>Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community organizations to enhance student support services. </li><li>These qualifications are designed to ensure that the Program Coordinator is able to provide effective program support, foster a positive student experience, and assist in the program's development and success. </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>The following is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.</p> <p>Customer Service Overriding Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate strong student service and student advocacy across in-person and virtual communication channels through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving, and a desire to identify and support student success. </li><li>Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported. </li><li>Go beyond the easiest or surface answer for a student and get to the root cause of the problem, question, or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible. This includes advocating for students in an internal departmental and external capacity. </li><li>Manage the Ignite student meetings, programming, program orientation, coordination of the annual End-of-the-Year Celebration, marketing, outreach, identification, and recruitment under the direction of the Director of Nina & Ignite Scholar Programs. </li><li>Serve as a resource to staff regarding the needs of former foster youth and homeless youth. </li><li>Mentor, coordinate with, and connect program participants to ancillary services, which include but are not limited to financial assistance, career counseling, academic advising, campus and community resources, assessment, mentoring, and tutoring. </li><li>Provide comprehensive retention and persistence support for program participants, including the teaching of college success skills, and lifelong and lifewide learning. </li><li>Collect and track data related to the program participants as well as generate the appropriate internal and external reports as requested. </li><li>Recruit and identify qualified program applicants and coordinate the selection of the program participants under the direction of the Director of Nina & Ignite Scholar Programs. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree is required. Earned degree in social work, counseling, student affairs, or a related field preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 1 year of program coordination experience, preferably in student services, program coordination, or a related area, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit setting. </li><li>Experience working with former foster youth, homeless youth, or other student populations is strongly preferred. </li><li>Experience in program administration, event planning, and customer service. </li></ul> <p>Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
